About

project overview

01 ⚡

STELLAR is a European Union-funded project focused on revolutionising lithium metal (LiM) anode production for next-generation batteries. The project aims to create a sustainable, high-throughput production method for LiM anodes, specifically for Gen 4b/4c/5 batteries, using innovative roll-to-roll physical vapour deposition (R2R PVD) technology.

02 ⚡

The project brings together a consortium of industry leaders, academic institutions, and sustainability experts to enhance battery performance and support a circular economy by improving recycling processes. STELLAR focuses on optimising production efficiency, developing protective coatings, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of energy storage solutions.

03 ⚡

With advanced data science and real-time process optimisation, STELLAR is committed to strengthening Europe’s position as a leader in energy storage, paving the way for cleaner, renewable energy solutions in the future.
